NO SURPRISES
It is warm, simple, personal, and full of celebration. We will make sure you know exactly what to do.
A WARM, CLEAN BAPTISTRY
Baptisms happen during a Sunday service in the baptistry near the stage. The water is warm and the process is easy.
ONE SIMPLE QUESTION
You will be asked, “Do you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior?” Your answer is simply, “Yes.”
BRING DARK CLOTHES + A TOWEL
Wear dark shorts and a dark shirt. Bring a towel and change of clothes; a private changing area is provided.
INVITE YOUR PEOPLE
Family and friends are encouraged to attend, pray with you, take photos, and celebrate. A pastor, mentor, or family member can help baptize you.

HOW DO I GET BAPTIZED AT NEW HOPE CHURCH?
Start with the signup form on this page. We will let you know when the next preparation class is, usually on a Sunday from 10:30-11:30 AM in Classroom B4. Then we'll schedule you for the next Baptism Sunday during either the 9:00 and 10:30 AM service, your choice. Our team will walk you through every step.
IS THERE A COST TO GET BAPTIZED?
No. Baptism at New Hope Church is completely free - it’s simply an outward expression of your faith in Jesus.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY BAPTISM?
Wear dark shorts and a dark shirt that will not become see-through when wet. Bring a towel and a change of clothes; a private changing area is provided.
DO I NEED TO BE BAPTIZED AGAIN IF I WAS BAPTIZED AS A BABY?
Many people who were baptized as infants choose to be baptized again as a personal, public declaration of their own faith. If you have questions about your specific situation, our pastoral team is happy to talk it through with you.
WHAT IF I AM NERVOUS ABOUT SHARING MY STORY?
That is completely normal. You can write your testimony, have someone help you, or ask a pastor or mentor to share it for you.
HOW OLD DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE?
There is no fixed age. A child should understand the gospel and freely choose baptism. Many children can explain its meaning around second or third grade. For infants, New Hope offers child dedication.
CAN I BE BAPTIZED AGAIN?
It can be meaningful if your earlier baptism happened before you understood the gospel or if this marks a genuine return to following Jesus. Our pastoral team will gladly talk it through with you.
